(KMOV.com) -- Three demonstrators were arrested after gathering outside of the Ferguson Police Station Friday night to protest in the name of Mike Brown.
“I am out here and a lot of other mothers are out here just to help, to let them know we need justice for our kids,” said Yvette Harris, a demonstrator and mother, who told News 4’s Cory Stark that she did not want any violence.
At approximately 9:30 p.m., a group of about 125 protesters moved into the roadway at the intersection of West Florissant and Canfield. During the demonstration, a motorist on West Florissant crashed into a light pole at an intersection after losing control of the vehicle, according to Sergeant Brian Schellman of the St. Louis County Police Department.
Demonstrators eventually moved back to the area outside of the Ferguson Police Department.
“Approximately a dozen demonstrators [went] into the street and again blocked traffic on South Florissant,” while led by an individual wearing an ‘Anonymous’ mask and carrying a bullhorn, police said.
Police then took 55-year-old Kenny Thomas of St. Louis, 26-year-old David Rodriguez of Oak Lawn, Ill. and 23-year-old William Morales of Granite City, Ill. into custody. All three men were arrested on the charge of Unlawful Assembly.
The remaining protesters then voluntarily dispersed from the roadway and no further incidents were reported.
