ST. LOUIS • About three dozen protesters for Michael Brown, carrying signs and chanting for justice, assembled late this morning at the MetroLink stations on Skinker Boulevard and Delmar Boulevard, then marched to a meeting together on the Delmar Loop.
About a dozen of them laid down in the 6300 block of Delmar at about noon, briefly blocking traffic, as police stood by. The protesters, then got back up. They chanted slogans such as "No justice, no peace" and held signs with slogans such as "Indict America" and "A Mother's Child" and "A family's Future."
After the "die in" on Delmar, the group moved to the intersection of North Skinker Boulevard and Forest Park Parkway, again blocking traffic for a short time.
The protest group then disbanded.
Organizers planned the event, which attracted almost as many journalists as protesters, to mark about 100 days since Brown, 18, was shot Aug. 9 in Ferguson in an encounter with police Officer Darren Wilson. A grand jury is expected to decide later this month whether there is probable cause to indict Wilson for any crime.
